Venezuela’s MENPA adds three partners
Venezuelan law firm Mendoza, Palacios, Acedo, Borjas, Páez Pumar & Cia (MENPA) has recruited three new partners, and which the firm describes as key for the current complex times in the country, and “in preparation for the expected economic expansion”.
Luisa Lepervanche (pictured) has extensive expertise in the corporate sector, and is specialised in issues of corporate governance, foreign exchange controls, banking and finance, regulations and international sanctions, as well as acquisitions and foreign investment. Before re-joining the firm in 2017, she acted as legal counsel for The Coca-Cola Company´s subsidiaries in Venezuela and the Caribbean.
Diego Lepervanche has in-depth knowledge of corporate financial issues, significant experience in private equity and international acquisitions, and a global vision that covers different legal, structural, labor and conflict resolution issues, as well as day-to-day business matters in various jurisdictions.
María Genoveva Páez Pumar is an expert in tax and in regulatory matters, with particular emphasis on administrative and judicial procedures at all levels. She assists Venezuelan clients who receive regular income abroad, with regard to their tax planning, coordinating with other jurisdictions’ attorneys and accountants. She has ample experience regarding tax audits and in evaluating fiscal risks, and had previously managed the tax audit section of the Municipality of Chacao.
