VMCA has a new partner in the Data Protection and Privacy practice

Vinicius Marques de Carvalho Advogados introduced Nathalie Fragoso as new partner in the Data Protection and Privacy practice

 

Nathalie Fragoso (pictured) is the new partner in the Privacy and Data Protection practice of boutique firm VMCA.

With Nathalie’s arrival, VMCA expands its practice in the sector to meet the demand of its national and international clients amid the adoption of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) in Brazil and the debates of the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) on new regulations and measures in this segment.

Nathalie holds a Ph.D. in sociology of Law from the Law School of the University of São Paulo and an LLM from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. The new partner has experience in internet policies, criminal procedure, and data protection, having also acted in critical human rights cases in Brazil and international courts.

Nathalie is also a professor at Insper, where she coordinates the executive graduate program in Law and Technology. Her previous experience includes having acted as Head of research on Privacy and Surveillance at InternetLab, as a lawyer at criminal boutique Davi Tangerino e Salo de Carvalho Advogados (DTSC), and as an advocacy advisor at the Institute for the Defense of Defense Rights (IDDD) and at the Criminal Justice Network. She was also the coordinator of the Luiz Gama Human Rights Clinic at USP’s School of Law and a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service in 2010 with Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

VMCA now has 6 partners and a prominent practice in the areas of Competition, Technology and Data Protection, Impact Business and Third Sector.
