White & Case advises Atlas on B-bond financing in Uruguay

White & Case acted for Atlas on a $114 million financing for two solar power projects in Uruguay.

Atlas is a renewable energy company headquarted in Miami and with operations throughout Latin America. It is a portfolio company of Actis, the private equity firm.

The two projects in Uruguay will have an installed capacity of 75.8MWp. Atlas estimates the plants will remove 55,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually and power around 50,000 homes.

The financing involved senior and subordinated long-term loans provided by the Inter-American Investment Corporation, as well as the US sale of securities to select investors. 

The White & Case team working on this multijurisdictional deal included partners Carlos Viana in Miami, Juan Manuel de Remedios in Madrid and John Vetterli in New York.
