White & Case assists I Squared Capital’s sale of Orazul Energy
White & Case has advised I Squared Capital, through its portfolio company Inkia Energy, on the sale of its Peruvian transmission line company Orazul Energy Group to Interconexión Eléctrica
Orazul Energy Group operates three transmission lines in central and northern Peru with a combined length of 176km, and three transmission lines in central Peru with a combined length of 394km.
I Squared Captal is a Miami-based private equity company focusing on global infrastructure investments in the energy, utilities, transport and telecom sectors in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
Inkia Energy is one of the largest independent power producers in Latin America, while Interconexión Eléctrica is a Colombian state-owned holding company.
The transaction was valued at $158.5 million, according to local media reports.
The White & Case team was led by partner Marwan Azzi (pictured) and included associates Jordan Kobb and Mahir Maini (M&A).
The team also included partner Steven Gee (tax), partner Sabrena Silver (banking), partner Andrew Weisberg and associate Matthew Danforth (capital markets), partner Seth Kerschner (environmental), partner Steven Lutt (real estate), and counsel Douglas Jasinski (antitrust).
