Cuatrecasas counsels Renantis on sale of portfolio to Cubico
Cuatrecasas, through its Mexico City office, has counselled Renantis Group on the establishment and subsequent sale to Cubico Sustainable Investments of a renewable energy development portfolio comprising eight wind and solar energy projects located in various Mexican states.
In addition to the negotiation of the sale of the projects, the advisory services also covered tax and labour structuring and implementation. The projects acquired by Cubico are at different stages of development, which has meant that certain complexities arose in relation to valuation, liability and form of payment before both parties, in conjunction with their advisors, reached a satisfactory agreement.
Cuatrecasas’ team was led by partner Santiago Ferrer (pictured), with support from associates Fernando Ruiz, Ivana Muñiz, and Emilio Ruvalcaba. Partner Juan David Mina, senior associate Jorge García de Presno, and associates Jorge Antonio Jimenez and Eduardo Alfredo Vargas also participated.
