CMS strengthens team with new partners and lawyer
CMS Carey & Allende has announced the promotion to partners of Enrique Vergara and Julio Frías, as well as the addition of Nicolás Vial, who will strengthen the firm’s finance, labor and corporate law areas, respectively.
Enrique (pictured left) joined the firm 9 years ago, accumulating proven experience in various financing structures, including syndicated loans, private debt, project finance and securities market. He has advised FinTech companies and non-bank financial institutions on product development, regulatory compliance and emerging technologies such as blockchain and cryptoassets. He has also led financings for sectors such as telecommunications and technology, as well as debt restructuring and private placements for investment funds and financial institutions. Enrique holds an LL.M. in International Banking and Finance Law from University College London and a Law Degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Julio (pictured centre), leader of the firm’s Labor & Pensions team, has more than 10 years of experience and a solid reputation in the field of labor law, both in contentious and non-contentious matters. He is recognized for his ability to successfully handle complex collective bargaining and union relations. His practice also encompasses occupational health and safety. A graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, he holds a Diploma in Labor Law and Corporate Social Security.
Nicolás (pictured right) brings to the firm his extensive experience in the aquaculture and natural resources industry. He comes from an outstanding career in the salmon industry as legal manager of Cermaq, actively participating in the different salmon industry guilds, both as a director and in regulatory discussion processes with the competent authority. He also has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, associations and joint ventures. He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an LL.M. in Corporate Law from Columbia University.
