Multiple firms on Anglo’s sale of nickel business in Brazil to MMG
Lefosse and Pinheiro Neto acted as Brazilian legal advisors on the acquisition of Anglo American‘s nickel business in Brazil by MMG Limited, for a total cash consideration of up to US$ 500 million.
The deal involves two of Anglo American’s operating nickel plants in the state of Goiás, as well as two projects currently in the development phase (mineral exploration) in the states of Mato Grosso and Pará.
The Transaction is consistent with MMG Limited’s growth strategy to expand its earnings, geographic presence and exposure to base metal commodities, marking its expansion in Latin America, MMG Limited’s first investment in Brazil and the addition of nickel to MMG Limited’s portfolio. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
