André Bueno

Pinheiro Neto Advogados announces a new counsel hire

Pinheiro Neto Advogados has announced that André Soares de Freitas Bueno (pictured) has joined the firm as counsel.

André brings a consistent track record of leading legally and commercially complex initiatives in renewable energy. As chief legal counsel for multibillion-dollar energy platforms in Brazil, he has led workstreams in utility-scale generation (hydro, wind, solar, biomass, and gas-fired thermal), renewable fuels (green hydrogen and biogas), energy trading, distributed generation, and transmission.

His portfolio also includes drafting legislative proposals underpinning Brazil’s power-sector reform and the country’s new green hydrogen regulatory framework, as well as coordinating the full project lifecycle – from permitting through commissioning – of multiple solar assets.

Mr. Bueno holds an LL.M. in International Business Law from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and has completed executive programs at Esade Law School, Harvard Law School, and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). He also serves as professor and academic coordinator at the Brazilian Institute of Energy Law (IBDE).
