Andrade Maia strengthens its financial institutions tax practice

Andrade Maia Advogados announces the arrival of three new partners to its financial institutions tax practice: Leonardo Andrade, in São Paulo; Bernardo Leite, in Vitória; and Carolina Rigon, in Brasília (pictured from left to right).

The move strengthens the firm’s work in one of the most strategic sectors of the economy, while expanding its technical capacity to handle highly complex tax matters and deepening its presence in important decision-making hubs across the country.

With established careers and strong technical specialization, the new partners bring more than two decades of experience each in complex tax matters, especially judicial and administrative litigation, as well as significant experience before the higher courts and the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF). Their arrival reinforces Andrade Maia’s positioning in serving financial institutions and other players in the Brazilian financial system, a segment regarded as a priority for the firm’s growth. The integrated presence across São Paulo, Brasília, and Vitória also increases proximity to strategic economic and regulatory centers, allowing for an even more coordinated and sophisticated nationwide approach.

Leonardo Andrade has more than 20 years of experience in tax litigation, representing clients before courts throughout the country, including the higher courts. His practice includes advising companies and associations in high-profile disputes, with a focus on strategy definition and the handling of complex cases, especially in the financial sector.

Bernardo Leite also brings two decades of experience in the tax field, with an emphasis on advisory work and federal administrative tax litigation. A former CARF board member, he has a strong presence in the financial market and experience in relevant cases, in addition to international training at the University of Pennsylvania, with certification from Wharton Business and Law.

Carolina Rigon works in judicial litigation and the strategic monitoring of tax matters, with particular emphasis on following the development of case law in the higher courts. Her experience contributes to the anticipation of risks and opportunities, especially in matters involving the regulatory environment and the financial sector.
