CMS launches Ibero-American arbitration group

CMS has announced the launch of its Ibero-American Arbitration Group, a coordinated initiative involving the firm’s offices in Spain and across Latin America. The group brings CMS’s arbitration capabilities across the Ibero-American region under one structure, reflecting the firm’s growing focus on dispute resolution in cross-border matters involving Spanish-speaking jurisdictions.

CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, the firm’s Spanish arm, and several of its Latin American offices developed the initiative together, showing an integrated approach to serving clients with arbitration needs across multiple jurisdictions in the region. CMS Albiñana’s managing partner is César Albiñana (pictured left) and Rafael Suárez de Lezo is the CMS’ president emeritus (pictured right).

The creation of a dedicated Ibero-American arbitration group reflects broader market trends, as demand for international arbitration in disputes involving Latin American parties and assets has grown steadily in recent years. By pooling expertise across offices, CMS aims to offer coordinated support in proceedings before major arbitral institutions.
