Cunha Leão welcomes back Battesini to partnership

Cunha Leão Advogados has brought Ana Cecília Battesini back into its partnership, a move that bolsters the Belo Horizonte-based boutique tax law firm’s capabilities in highly regulated and complex industries.

Battesini brings nearly 20 years of experience in tax law, covering both advisory and litigation matters at the federal, state, and municipal levels. Her practice has been particularly focused on the energy, fuel, and mining sectors, where she has developed expertise in sophisticated tax matters and the design of legal strategies aligned with business objectives. She holds a postgraduate degree in Energy Law from CEDIN, a specialization in Tax Law from IBET, and a law degree from Milton Campos School of Law.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Battesini spent four years working directly in the energy market, where she led the development, regulatory approval, implementation, and management of distributed and centralized generation projects, with a particular focus on the state of Minas Gerais. This hands-on experience in project structuring adds a practical dimension to her legal profile that the firm considers a key asset.

Her return coincides with a period marked by the consolidation of the energy transition, the expansion of the free energy market, and the growing convergence between the energy, fuel, and mining sectors — dynamics that demand an increasingly strategic and integrated legal approach.
