Guevara returns to Hernández & Cía. as partner
Hernández & Cía. has announced that Nydia Guevara (pictured) has joined the firm as partner in its Banking and Finance, Capital Markets and FinTech practices. Her arrival is described by the firm as a step within its growth plan for these practice areas.
The move also marks a return for Guevara, who began her career at Hernández & Cía. and remained with the firm until 2006. She subsequently held partner positions at Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano and at Miranda & Amado, and worked as a foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling, now A&O Shearman, in New York. She holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School.
With more than two decades of experience, Guevara advises financial institutions, issuers, investors, fintech companies and corporate clients on domestic and international financings, securities offerings, project finance, the structuring of financial instruments, and regulatory matters related to banking, capital markets and financial innovation. In June 2026, Guevara was named Lawyer of the Year – Capital Markets at The Latin American Lawyer Women Awards, held in São Paulo.
In her new role, she will work across the firm’s various practices, and she joins a Banking & Finance and Capital Markets team, made up of five partners and fourteen lawyers in total.
