ABCIA promotes two new partners

Chilean law firm Allende Bascuñán & Cía. has announced the promotion of Mauricio Carloza and Michael Camus as new partners of the firm.

Mauricio (pictured left) has been part of the firm since 2020, previously working as an associate in International Taxation matters and as head of the Tax Law department. Prior to joining the firm he was manager of M&A and International Tax at Deloitte Chile, associate at Araya y Cía. and senior lawyer at KPMG, in the areas of Corporate and Tax Law and Tax International, respectively. He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he is now a professor of Tax Law, a diploma in tax planning and management from the Universidad de Chile, and an LLM from Queen Mary University of London.

Michael (pictured right) joined the firm in 2010 as a senior lawyer. He practices in the areas of Tax Law, Corporate Law, Litigation and Civil Law. He will now lead the litigation department. He holds a degree in Law and Legal and Social Sciences from the Universidad de Chile, and a Master in Tax Management from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
