Azevedo Sette Advogados mourns Humberto Portela
Azevedo Sette Advogados announced the death of partner Humberto Portela (OAB 91263/MG), who died on Thursday, 23 July, at the age of 55. Portela had spent more than 20 years practicing law, with a focus on real estate, urban, regulatory and contractual matters.
Portela joined the partnership of Azevedo Sette Advogados earlier this year, bringing his experience to the firm. He was a co-founder of PLC Advogados and was among the lawyers who helped establish the real estate law practice in the state of Minas Gerais, becoming a reference figure in the field for younger generations of attorneys practicing in the area.
He was a member of the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Imobiliário (IBRADIM), the Junta Integrada de Recursos Fiscais of the Belo Horizonte municipal government, and the Legal Council of Sinduscon.
In a statement, Azevedo Sette Advogados expressed solidarity with Portela’s family, friends, colleagues and clients, thanking him for his contribution to legal practice in Minas Gerais and Brazil more broadly.
