Azevedo Sette announces new partners in different areas

Azevedo Sette Advogados has announced new partners for the Belo Horizonte office: Gabriela Salazar (pictured left) who works in the mining area, Natália Meirelles (pictured center) from the corporate M&A and capital markets area and João Paulo Santarosa de Araújo Ayres (pictured right) from the tax area.

At the firm since 2011 when she joined as a trainee, Gabriela has more than 10 years’ experience in matters related to mining and natural resources, regulatory issues and contracts in legal advice on royalties, negotiation and granting of mining rights, mining easements, possession and expropriation procedures, due diligence, representation of clients’ interests in administrative procedures before the National Mining Agency at all stages, administrative litigation and support for judicial litigation.

She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Mineral Law and Policy (distinction) from the University of Dundee / Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (UK). She attended the Executive Training in Extractive Industries and Sustainable Development at Columbia University (New York, USA).

Natália has over ten years’ experience in corporate law. She joined Azevedo Sette in 2021 as a senior associate. She focuses her practice on advising national and international companies on structuring purchase and sale transactions, legal audits, equity acquisitions, negotiating complex commercial contracts, corporate and equity reorganizations, as well as succession planning.

She graduated from Faculdade Milton Campos with a degree in Accounting from IBMEC. She also has a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from IBMEC and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.

João Paulo is considered a competent and assertive lawyer in Tax Litigation and Advisory, with experience in complex claims in the food, agribusiness, automotive, construction, pharmaceutical, transportation, general industry, mining, steel and forestry segments. He joined the firm in 2019 as a senior associate. He has more than ten years’ experience, with an outstanding track record in administrative and judicial litigation at the state, municipal and federal levels, including administrative councils and tribunals and higher courts.

He has a degree in Law from Faculdade Milton Campos and in Accounting and a postgraduate degree in Business Law from the same institution. He also has a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies – IBET.
