BMA inform partners’ promotion to 2023

BMA informed six new partners’ promotion to 2023. They are: Christopher Zibordi, Fernanda Nasciutti, Gabriel Bürgel, Henrique Garcia Pimenta, Matheus Barcelos, Thiago Pinho (pictured to left to right).

• Christopher Zibordi – 38, Corporate and M&A, based in Rio de Janeiro and has been with BMA since 2006 has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, credits restructurings, corporate disputes and shareholder litigation. He acts for both national and international clients.

Christopher’s work ranges over a variety of sectors, such as oil and gas, biofuels, entertainment, consumer goods and telecommunications. Between 2014 and 2015, Christopher worked as an international associate in the Corporate and M&A practice area at Bredin Prat law firm in Paris. He has Master II Recherche – Droit des Affaires pela Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II ( 2014). Finance Program, Instituto Coppead de Administração da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (COPPEAD – UFRJ) (2012). Law Degree, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC (2009).

• Fernanda Nasciutti – 46, Labor and Employment, based in Rio de Janeiro and has been with BMA since 2016. She advises businesses in the various aspects of employment and labor law, and has extensive experience in pension and social security matters. She represents clients before the courts and administrative authorities in complex cases such as public civil actions, collective actions, and individual claims involving sensitive matters such as work-related accidents and lawsuits brought by former executives.

She has more than 20 years’ experience advising companies doing business in energy, banking and the financial market, mining, infrastructure, insurance, transportation and logistics, technology, entertainment, and services.

Fernanda also has acquired expertise in dealing with the employment-related challenges resulting from the privatization of state-owned enterprises, both contentious and non-contentious. Fernanda’s formation includes Employment Relations Management Update Program, Fundação Dom Cabral (2013); Master’s in Procedural Law, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (2007); Specialist in Labor Law and Procedure – Universidade Candido Mendes Centro – UCAM (2001) and Bachelor of Law – Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (2000).


• Gabriel Bürgel – 33 , Finance and Capital Markets, based in Rio de Janeiro and has been with BMA since 2008. He also acts take-over bids, legal opinions and memoranda regarding corporate, contractual and regulatory aspects related to financial transactions, regulatory aspects of the securities market (CVM), regulatory aspects of the financial system (Central Bank, Mergers and Acquisitions operations, including due diligence and analysis of financial contracts of companies, drafting of corporate acts and agreements, including shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements, among others.

His formation includes LLM, with Distinction, in International Financial Law by King’s College London (2016); Post-Education (lato sensu) – LLM in Corporate Law and Capital Markets by Getúlio Vargas Foundation (Portuguese: “Fundação Getúlio Vargas”- FGV-RJ (2014); Law School – Universidade Estadual do Rio ode Janeiro – UERJ (2011).


• Henrique Garcia Pimenta – 36 , Finance and Capital Markets, based in São Paulo and has been with BMA since 2007. He acts in legal matters that include transactions involving the issuance of securities, debt restructuring, financial and commercial contracts, general advice to financial institutions regarding regulatory aspects of Brazilian Central Bank, as well as publicly-held companies and entities regulated by CVM (Brazil’s securities regulator).

Henrique’s formation includes LL.M. Corporate Law – Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais – IBMEC (2015) and LL.B., Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ (2011).

• Matheus Barcelos – 36 , Dispute Resolution, based in Rio de Janeiro and has been with BMA since 2013. He acts in litigation and business pre-litigation, with emphasis on contractual and corporate disputes. It also acts in judicial repossessions and bankruptcy proceedings by both the creditor and the debtor. Represents national and international clients working in different sectors of the economy, especially civil construction, financial and services.

He is LL.M in Public Law – Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (2013) and LL.B – Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2009).

• Thiago Pinho – 36, Corporate and M&A, based in Rio de Janeiro and has been with BMA since 2010. Thiago represents large national and international clients, including publicly-held companies and private equity funds, from various industries and business and his most recent practice has focused on banking, education, real estate, infrastructure, energy and tech.  Thiago has worked as an international visiting professional with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York.

He has LL.M. – Columbia University, New York (2017); Corporate Finance Course – COPPEAD UFRJ (2013); Specialization in Corporate Law – IBMEC (2013) and LL.B. – Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC (2010).
