Basham promotes 4 new partners

Mexican law firm Basham Ringe y Correa has announced the appointment of four new partners: in the Mexico City office Mariana Vargas from Intellectual Property and Gerson Vaca from Corporate and ESG; while, in the Monterrey office, Roberto Serralde from Foreign Trade and Rodrigo Gardner from Corporate.

Mariana Vargas (pictured left) joined the firm in 2016. She participates in the development of strategies for the protection of intellectual property rights, especially trademarks, and in audits derived from M&A projects of national and international companies. She holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from the Universidad Anáhuac.

Gerson Vaca (pictured centre, left) heads the firm’s ESG group and has focused his career in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate, Transactional and Sustainability. He joined Basham in 2009, working on the planning and implementation of corporate restructurings, acquisition and sale of companies, implementation of vehicles for foreign investors, joint ventures and corporate governance strategies.

Roberto Serralde (pictured centre, right) focuses on consulting on foreign trade compliance and customs law, including tax-customs litigation, tariff classification, customs valuation, maquiladora industry and other issues related to the application of Free Trade Agreements. He obtained the National Export Award granted by the Ministry of Economy. He holds a law degree from the Universidad Anáhuac.

Rodrigo Gardner (pictured right) is part of the firm since 2009. He focuses on international transactions, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, contracts, corporate and real estate. He holds a Master’s degree in International Business Law from Boston University and is an active participant in national and international professional association events, with teaching experience in courses and diplomas given by the Tecnológico de Monterrey and the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, among others.

These appointments are made in the framework of the firm’s 110th anniversary. With offices in Mexico City, Monterrey, Querétaro and León, the firm has 224 legal professionals.
