Beccar Varela opens Public Affairs practice

Beccar Varela has announced the opening of its new Public Affairs department, led by senior lawyer Camila Corvalán (pictured), specialist in government relations, antitrust and international trade.

The new department’s main objective is to advise companies on Argentina’s regulatory framework and its consequences on corporate practice, with a special focus on three pillars: regulatory audit, which will analyse the structure of the client’s business by identifying the regulations applicable to its activity; early warning system, which will inform the client of regulatory changes that could affect its business; and the creation of solutions to particular problems.

In line with the firm’s growth, the incorporation of the practice also responds to client demand, as “markets generate new products and services that constantly give rise to changes in the rules of the game, new regulations and, above all, a growing need for answers,” said the firm’s managing partner, Horacio E. Beccar Varela.

Camila Corvalán added: “On a par with large global firms, and pioneers in Argentina, for some time we perceived the need to create this department. We will provide a vital service for the efficient running of our clients’ businesses.
