BK&Partners advises Topaz on acquisition of Cobiscorp
BK&Partners advised Topaz Participações S.A. on the acquisition of Cobis Systems Corporation
BK&Partners acted as Topaz’s advisor on the deal by means of which Topaz Participações S.A., a core banking software provider belonging to Brazilian Stefanini Group, one of the most important business IT solution providers in the world, with operations over twenty-five (25) countries, acquired 84% of US-based banking software company Cobis Systems Corporation, with several subsidiaries worldwide (mostly in South and Central America) and clients in sixteen (16) countries.
With this acquisition Topaz’s software will integrate and improve Cobiscorp’s banking software and core banking solutions, online fraud prevention and risk reduction solutions, digital channels infrastructure, currency exchange functionality as well as its Software-as-a-Service (SAS) based cloud software service tool, providing better and economical service to its clients. This deal is part of Stefanini’s international expansion plans up until 2024.
This deal was led by partner Eduardo Benetti (pictured) and senior associate Pedro Giammarino, of the Corporate Law/M&A team at BK&Partners.
