BKM Berkemeyer has advised Traton Group on the approval by CONACOM of the acquisition of shares in Navistar
Paraguayan law firm BKM | Berkemeyer has represented Traton Group (a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group) in the notification of the concentration before the National Competition Commission (CONACOM), consisting of the acquisition of a stake in Navistar International Corporation.
The acquisition of assets was authorised by Resolution D/AL N° 05/2022 on 2 February. The process was notified and approved in more than 20 jurisdictions around the world, including Germany, Denmark, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay, reflecting the global scale and scope of the companies involved.
Traton produces and owns passenger and freight vehicles of the renowned Scania, MAN, and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ónibus brands. For its part, Navistar is active in the market of school and passenger buses (IC Bus), and large trucks (International Trucks) as well as MWM brand engines for industrial and maritime use, generator sets, among others.
