BLP advised Bean & Co on Nicaragua investment

BLP acted for cocoa producer Bean & Co on a $75 million acquisition of over 3,000 acres of land to develop an industrial cocoa bean plantation in Nicaragua.

Bean & Co is headquartered in Bristol, UK and it produces cocoa in South America, Africa, and Asia.

In Nicaragua, the company acquired land from Grupo Magdalena, a local agribusiness company, to develop, produce and export cocoa.

Partner Ernesto Rizo led the BLP team in Nicaragua acting for Bean & Co.
