Brazilian Legal Society marks 10 years with NYU conference

The Brazilian Legal Society (BLS) is set to celebrate a decade of fostering cross-border legal dialogue with its 9th Annual Conference, taking place on March 30 at New York University School of Law in New York City. The Latin American Lawyer is proud to be once again a supporter of the BLS Annual Conference.

Held at the Greenberg Lounge, this year’s one-day event carries added significance as the organization commemorates its 10th anniversary, underscoring its role as a key bridge between Brazil’s legal and business communities and their counterparts in the United States.

The conference is expected to draw a diverse audience of lawyers, bankers, policymakers, academics, and entrepreneurs, reflecting the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of Brazil’s evolving economic and regulatory environment. Over the past decade, BLS has built a reputation as a convening platform for high-level discussion on issues shaping Brazil’s global engagement — a role organizers say is more important than ever amid ongoing economic reforms and shifting investment dynamics.

Panels

This year’s program features six expert-led panels tackling critical developments across law, finance, and public policy:

  • Macroeconomic Outlook — examining Brazil’s economic trajectory and global positioning
  • Scaling Green Deals in Brazil — focusing on sustainable finance, investment strategies, and innovation
  • Enforcement Trends in the U.S. and Brazil — comparing regulatory and compliance developments
  • Brazilian Alternatives Market — exploring opportunities and challenges in private capital markets
  • Financial Regulation, Fintech & Cryptocurrency — addressing rapid digital transformation in financial services
  • Tax Reform — analyzing implementation challenges and business impacts of Brazil’s evolving tax framework

The speaker lineup brings together prominent voices from both the public and private sectors, offering attendees a transnational perspective on the forces shaping Brazil’s legal and economic landscape.

A Decade of Dialogue and Connection

Since its founding, BLS has positioned itself as a hub for discussion on Brazilian law outside Brazil, particularly within the U.S. academic and professional ecosystem. Its annual conference has grown into a flagship event, known for facilitating meaningful exchanges between practitioners, scholars, and decision-makers engaged in Brazil-related work.

Looking Ahead

As Brazil continues to embrace economic transformation and deepen international ties, events like this one can play a critical role in shaping informed dialogue and collaboration. With limited seating, early registration is encouraged.

The conference will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at NYU School of Law in New York City.
