Carey acts on conversion of Praxis notes with investment fund

Carey has advised Praxis Biotech, a company developing innovation in biotechnology, in the negotiation of the conversion of convertible notes with Fondo de Inversión Privado FEN Ventures II, a private investment fund supported by CORFO.

This transaction, closed on 7 March, had a value of USD $1.45 million and involved the jurisdictions of Chile and the US (Delaware). Morrison Foerster acted as advisor to Praxis in the US, while DLA Piper acted as advisor to the investment fund.

Morrison Foerster’s team was represented by partner John Rafferty.

DLA Piper’s team included partner Matías Zegers and associate José Ignacio Marín.

Carey’s team was led by partner Francisco Guzmán (pictured), with support from associates Carlos Alcalde, Carolina Miller and María Ignacia Urzúa.
