Larrain counsels Pucobre on agreement with RCF to develop El Espino mine

Larrain y Asociados has counselled Sociedad Punta del Cobre (Pucobre) in a framework agreement signed with the El Espino Investment Fund of Resource Capital Funds (RCF) for the joint development of the copper mining project “El Espino”, located in the region of Coquimbo, Chile.

The agreement, signed on April 24, involves the formation of a partnership in which Pucobre will contribute assets and funds for the equivalent of US $290,000,000 and will hold a 76.32% interest, and RCF will contribute funds for US $90,000,000 and will hold a 23.68% interest.

The project is subject to the fulfilment of customary conditions for this type of operation. Norton Rose Fulbright acted as international advisor to Pucobre, while PPU Chile and Blakes advised RCF in Chile and the United States, respectively.

Kate Broom acted as in-house counsel to RCF.

PPU’s team consisted of Juan Paulo Bambach and Felipe Ossa.

Blakes’ team included Trisha Robertson and Christina Huber.

Norton Rose Fulbright’s team comprised Alisson Babbit and Meaghan Farrell.
