Carey acts on HSBC Chile bond placement
Carey has acted as advisor to HSBC Bank (Chile) in the placement of a USD $35 million non-dated bond, eligible as additional tier 1 (AT1) capital.
The issue was made in accordance with the General Banking Law and the rules of the Financial Market Commission on 25 October, being the first issue of an AT1 bond in the local market and was entirely purchased by an entity belonging to the HSBC Group.
This is also the first issue of a perpetual AT1 bond in the local market, under the rules of the Financial Market Commission.
Ignacio Saavedra acted as in-house lawyer for HSBC.
Carey’s team was led by partner Diego Peralta (pictured), with support from associate Arturo Fasani.
