Carey assists Fotones in PPA between Libertad project and Enel

Carey has assisted Grupo Fotones in a power purchase agreement (PPA) and NCRE attributes, between its Libertad photovoltaic project and Enel, for 180 GWh/year.

This transaction was signed on 19 August and is the company’s first PPA in Chile.

Thanks to this contract, Fotones will be able to continue with the development of the Libertad photovoltaic solar park, which will add 245MW of non-conventional renewable energy to the Chilean energy matrix. The PPA also aims to supply clean energy to Enel, with a 10-year term.

The Libertad project consists of a photovoltaic solar farm located in the Atacama Desert in Chile, with an estimated commercial operation date of late 2023.
