Garrigues appoints two partners in Latin America

Garrigues has announced the appointment of 16 new partners within the firm, 14 in Spain and 2 internationally, including Franco Muschi Loayza and Bárbara Vera Arroyo, in the Lima and Santiago de Chile offices, respectively, with effect from 2023, both in the Labor Law practice.

The Garrigues Board of Partners also approved the appointment of a new partner in G-advisory, the consulting arm that provides technical, economic and strategic advice on energy and ESG matters.

Franco Muschi (pictured left) focuses his practice on labour matters, including advising companies on hiring schemes, salary structures, and termination mechanisms for Peruvian and foreign workers, occupational health and safety. He previously worked at Payet Rey Cauvi and as an international lawyer at Uría Menendez (Madrid). He is a Summa Cum Laude Lawyer from the University of Lima, specialising in Labour and Social Security Law, and obtained a Master’s Degree in Labour Law from Centro de Estudios Garrigues and Universidad Antonio Nebrija, Madrid.

Bárbara Vera (pictured right) advises clients on labour recruitment, compensation, benefits, strategic advice and human resources issues, termination of employment contracts, obtaining visas and work permits for foreign personnel and labour matters associated with M&A transactions, as well as handling labour lawsuits for violation of fundamental rights, unjustified dismissals, collection of benefits, among others. She worked as a labour lawyer at the National Copper Corporation of Chile (Codelco), senior lawyer at Estudio Carey y Cía., and international advisor on Chilean labour law for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). She is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and the Chilean Society of Labour Law and Social Security.

Thanks to these appointments, Garrigues will have 336 partners internationally.
