Carey assists Freyja in 309-hectare acquisition in Valle Cochamó
Carey has assisted The Freyja Foundation in the acquisition of 309 hectares of ecologically valuable native forest in an area of the Cochamó Valley for protection and conservation purposes.
This transaction was completed on 21 August and involved the jurisdictions of Bermuda and Chile. AT Abogados acted as counsel to Inmobiliaria Paso El León and Escalona y Compañía.
The transaction involved the negotiation of the purchase of an extensive native forest known worldwide as the “Chilean Yosemite” in Chile’s Patagonia Verde. This collaborative agreement is an achievement between Fundación Freyja and Corporación Puelo Patagonia, which is intended to promote the conservation of the native forest and is the beginning of a plan for the collaborative management of the valley.
AT Abogados’ team included lawyers Camila Retamal and Matías Quinteros.
