Carey on BTG Pactual Chile’s Medium Term Note issue
Carey has advised Banco BTG Pactual Chile on the Chilean aspects of the issuance and placement of bonds in the foreign market under the Medium Term Notes Program for US$40 million.
This transaction took place on 25 July and involved the jurisdictions of Chile and Luxembourg. Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom acted as counterparty counsel.
Half of the indicated amount will be used to grow the portfolio of placements aimed at financing projects with social objectives, and the other half will be used to finance projects with environmental objectives.
The transaction was carried out in accordance with the eligibility criteria of the so-called ‘BTG Pactual Sustainable Financing Framework’, to which the client and its parent company in Brazil adhere.
Sebastian Monge acted as in-house counsel to BTG Pactual Chile.
Carey’s team was led by partner Diego Peralta (pictured), with support from associates Vesna Camelio, Victoria Alonso and Felipe Reyes.
