Carey represents Sonnedix on $24m financing

Carey has represented Sonnedix in a short-term financing of up to USD $24 million granted by DNB Bank to Don Goyo Transmission, part of the Sonnedix group.

This transaction closed on 17 July, and involved the Chilean and US jurisdictions. Wakefield Quin advised Sonnedix internationally, while Guerrero Olivos and Shearman & Sterling acted as advisors to DNB Bank in Chile and the US, respectively.

Sonnedix will use the financing to reimburse its shareholders for the capital invested in the ‘Don Goyo’ interconnection substation, finance two expansions to that substation and pay the associated VAT.

Rafael Castillo and Marine Charreyre acted as in-house counsel to Sonnedix.

Guerrero Olivos’ team included partners Miguel Coddou and Sebastián Abogabir, and associates Ignacio Chomalí, Juan Ignacio Peribonio, Catalina Saldías and Felipe Martínez.

A&O Shearman’s team comprised partners Robert O’Leary and Augusto Ruiloba, associates Yi Zhou and Moises Mizrachi, and visiting attorney Ana Gabriela Martínez.

Wakefield Quin’s team was represented by senior counsel Jemima Fearnside.

Carey’s team was led by partner Felipe Moro (pictured), with support from associates Pablo Morales, Diego Lasagna and Magdalena Menchaca.
