Carey takes on dual roles on Masisa loan

Two separate teams at Carey simultaneously advised the lenders and the borrower in a $100 million loan to Masisa.

Masisa is a wood products company headquartered in Chile with operations in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico and the United States.

Rabobank Chile acted as agent with The Bank of Nova Scotia, Banco de Crédito del Perú and Export Development Canada among the lenders in the $100 million loan granted to Masisa with Masisa Forestal acting as subsidiary guarantor.

Partners Diego Peralta and Jorge Ugarte led the team at Carey advising the lenders, which also instructed Linklaters as NY counsel.

The borrower, Masisa, instructed a Carey team led by partner Francisco Ugarte.
