CBMA appoints new vice president and strengthens its presence

The Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA) has announced the appointment of André de Luizi Correia (pictured) as its new vice president.

With over 30 years of experience in strategic litigation and commercial arbitration, he joins the leadership alongside fellow Vice Presidents Antonio Cesar Siqueira, Liana Gorberg Valdetaro, and Vilmar Gonçalves.

Correia previously held the position of Director of Mediation at the Center and was actively engaged in a range of CBMA’s activities and events. In his new capacity, he will advise the President, support regulatory matters, and provide guidance to the other members of the institution’s Executive Board.
Mariana Freitas de Souza, President of CBMA, emphasized that the appointment further reinforces the institution’s strength and supports the expansion of its activities.

With more than three decades of experience in the legal market, he has represented some of the country’s largest construction companies and financial institutions, as well as several investment and sovereign funds from Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. He also acts in arbitrations involving both the private sector and federal, state, and municipal public administrations.
Correia holds a law degree and a Master’s degree in Civil Procedure from PUC/SP, as well as an LL.M. in Business Law from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Chicago (USA).
