Cescon Barrieu promotes six new partners

Cescon Barrieu Advogados announced the promotion of Cínthia Lamare, Edson Elias de Freitas, Daniel Pettersen (pictured top from left to right), Marcelo Moura, Matheus Fernandes and Viviane Rodrigues (pictured bottom from left to right) as new partners of the firm, all promoted were senior associate lawyers.

Cinthia Lamare has 19 years of experience and was a senior associate at Cescon Barrieu in Rio de Janeiro since March 2020. She has experience in Litigation and Arbitration, including bankruptcies and recoveries, M&A litigation, Capital Markets Litigation, Competition, Credit Recovery, Maritime and Probate.
He has a law degree from UERJ.

Edson Elias de Freitas has more than 20 years of experience, always working in the Litigation and Corporate areas. He has been an associate attorney at Cescon Barrieu since August 2018. He has a law degree and specialization in Civil Procedural Law from PUC-SP, and a master’s degree in Civil Procedural Law from USP.
Daniel Pettersen has excellent experience advising clients in Real Estate, Agribusiness, Mining, and Corporate Contracts. He has a law degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUCMG) and a master’s degree from King’s College London – University of London (KCL). He was a professor at several institutions in Minas Gerais, such as Faculdades Milton Campos, Faculdade de Estudos Administrativos (Fead), Centro de Estudos Avançados em Mineração (Ceamin), Centro Universitário UMA, and Instituto Minere. For almost four years at Cescon Barrieu, he is a partner in the Real Estate and Corporate Contracts area in the Belo Horizonte office.

Marcelo Moura has a law degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a master’s degree from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV/SP). He has ten years of experience advising financial institutions, public and private companies, public companies, and investment funds, and representing companies in mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, and other investment transactions. As of 2022, he also began representing sports associations and investors in transactions involving soccer corporations. Marcelo had previously practiced at Cescon Barrieu from 2015 to 2018 and returned to the firm in January 2022. He becomes a partner in the banking and finance, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions practice in the São Paulo office.

Matheus Fernandes has experience in representing domestic and foreign clients in M&A transactions, asset sales, joint ventures and other corporate transactions. He has a law degree from the Catholic University of Salvador (UCSal) and has worked at Cescon Barrieu for almost eight years. He is now a partner in Corporate and Corporate Governance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Executive Compensation in the São Paulo office.

Viviane Rodrigues has experience representing national and multinational companies in labor litigation and claims. She is active in executive compensation plans, collective bargaining, corporate investigations and assistance related to foreign workers, as well as interaction with M&A and capital markets teams. She holds a law degree from Mackenzie Presbyterian University and a master’s degree from Chicago Law School. She has worked at Cescon Barrieu for almost fifteen years and is now a partner in the Labor and Executive Compensation practice in the São Paulo office.
