Chilean IP boutique Garay Guerrero splits

Chilean law firms Guerrero Olivos and Garay Guerrero announced the division of their IP subsidiary Garay Guerrero,  ending 10 years of a professional relationship.

According to a joint statement, the decision is by mutual agreement and became effective January 2018. Guerrero Olivos decided to re-integrate the IP practice into its fold while Garay chose to remain independent and will now practice as Garay IP.

Diego Morande will now head the IP practice group at Guerrero Olivos while Jorge Garay will lead the separate firm, Garay IP.

Morande joined Guerrero Olivos in December 2017 after eight years with Alessandri. He is a law graduate from the Universidad de los Andes in Chile and holds an LLM from University of California, Berkeley. His experience includes IP, litigation and arbitration.
