CMS promotes two new partners
CMS Carey & Allende has promoted Sebastián Barros (pictured left) and Gonzalo Serrano (pictured right) to partners to strengthen the Corporate/M&A and Tax areas, respectively.
Sebastián has been with the firm since 2017. He has a recognized track record in M&A projects, focusing on the areas of energy, infrastructure and natural resources, participating in relevant transactions in the local market in recent years. He has also advised clients in the development, financing and construction of projects in the same areas. His relevant experience also includes advising on regulatory aspects applicable to public companies in the issuance, registration and placement of securities. He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Certificate in Business Law.
Gonzalo joined the firm in 2018. His professional practice focuses on advising individuals and legal entities, seeking tax efficiencies in business structuring and tax compliance, with special emphasis on international tax matters and high net worth clients. Gonzalo is a frequent participant in the office’s M&A processes due to his ability to generate company sale structures with great efficiency, legal and tax intelligence. He excels in cross tax planning and structuring of large companies, including a major French electricity generator. He is a lawyer from Gabriela Mistral University.
