Cuatrecasas adds former PEMEX lawyer as partner in Mexico

Cuatrecasas announced that Marco de la Peña has joined the firm as a partner in Mexico City.

From February 2016 until March 2017, Marco Antonio de la Peña headed the legal unit of the Comisión Nacional de Hidrocarburos de México, the country´s oil and gas federal regulator. Prior to that role, de la Peña was general counsel at PEMEX, the energy major. Besides his extensive career in the public sector, he also worked in-house and in private practice at leading Mexican law firms. 

His arrival is set to reinforce the Cuatrecasas´ energy practice. The law firm is now home to five partners in Mexico City.
