Cuatrecasas Chile names Raúl Fernández as partner
Cuatrecasas has announced the strengthening of its Santiago office with the incorporation of lawyer Raúl Fernández (pictured) as the new partner in charge of the Labor and Employment area.
“Raúl’s arrival to lead the labor law practice in our Cuatrecasas office in Chile marks a very important milestone. Labor relations have become more complex from a legal point of view in recent years. Raúl is a true expert in the field, with studies in Australia and Spain and a long career as a professor at the University of Chile Law School. He has experience in corporate and contentious labour law, with special emphasis on collective bargaining processes supporting large mining, energy and infrastructure companies. He is highly recognized and admired by clients and peers, so his contribution will be indisputable,” said Cristián Conejero, managing partner of Cuatrecasas’ Santiago office.
Throughout his 13-year professional career, Raúl has accumulated extensive experience working at leading law firms in Chile, providing advice on all matters related to labor and social security law, having previously been a partner at Saéz y Fernández (Safe Abogados). In addition, he has a distinguished career as an academic, as he has lectured at several universities and has a wide repertoire of publications, exhibitions and research.
He holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the University of Concepción, where he obtained the highest academic distinction, and a Master’s Degree in Labour and Social Security Law, taught jointly by the University of Valencia (Spain) and the University of Talca (Chile), and a Master’s Degree in Employment and Labour Relations Law from the University of Melbourne (Australia).
