Cuatrecasas counsels Softys Brazil and Empresas CMPC on $51m credit facility

Cuatrecasas, through its team in Santiago de Chile, has advised Softys Brasil, as debtor, and Empresas CMPC, as guarantor, in the process of granting and underwriting a $51,000,000 USD credit facility under New York law for general corporate purposes. MUFG Bank acted as lender.

Thanks to this transaction, Grupo CMPC will continue with its expansion plans in Brazil, following the acquisition of Carta Fabril in 2021, from which Softys Brazil reached an installed production capacity of 380,000 tonnes of Tissue paper per year.

Softys is a company with more than 40 years of experience in the development of hygiene and personal care products and solutions. It is also part of one of CMPC’s three business units.
