Cuatrecasas counsels Vía 40 Express on financing for the Bogotá-Girardot highway
Cuatrecasas, through its Bogotá team, has counselled Vía 40 Express and its shareholders on the long-term financing of the Bogotá-Girardot highway project.
The $2.5 billion pesos financing will enable the development of the project, including the construction, improvement and rehabilitation of the existing infrastructure, as well as the operation, maintenance, social, property and environmental management of the third lane of the Bogotá-Girardot dual carriageway.
This transaction involved the jurisdictions of Colombia, the United States and France, and is one of the largest and most important transactions ever closed in the country, not only because of its impact on national mobility and the amount of financing, but also because it is a complex financing structure incorporating several tranches, with different maturities, and a revolving facility. PPU, Paul Hastings and Clifford Chance also participated in the transaction.
Cuatrecasas’ team was led by partner Manuel Quinche (pictured), with support from lawyers Natalia Arango, Sofía Esguerra, María Mónica Latorre, Manuela Gaitán, Diana Rueda, Santiago Mendoza, Carolina Trejos and Andrea del Pilar Vargas.
