Cuatrecasas represents BTG Pactual in financing Chilean startups
Cuatrecasas, through its team in Santiago, has represented BTG Pactual Chile in structuring its first investments in the country, through its Venture Debt Fund.
These financings aim to be invested in Chilean startups and fintechs, where the first three companies to receive funds are WildFoods, Buydepa and Wift.
The structure of the investments is based on the granting of a line of credit for each of the companies, together with the option to acquire an equity stake in them. This has been done through a process whereby the companies are able to achieve higher valuations without losing equity, allowing the founders to maintain control over their ventures.
Cuatrecasas’ team included partners Macarena Ravinet (pictured left) and Josefina Yávar (pictured right), associates Franco Dalmazzo, Federico Espinosa, Ronny Vaisman, Tomás Montes and Pilar Illanes, along with Fernanda Paredes and Yael Schwartstein.
