Cuatrecasas welcomes Carlos Monteza as new partner
Cuatrecasas has announced the appointment of Carlos Monteza (pictured) as a new public law partner in its Lima office.
With more than 18 years of experience, Carlos Monteza has extensive knowledge of international administrative matters and has built a solid professional career over the course of which he has dealt with a wide range of cases. For 11 years he worked in the Public Law and Infrastructure area at Rodrigo Elías & Medrano, before founding his own firm, MOAR Abogados, which, in a short period of time, achieved a position in the main legal rankings.
Carlos is a lawyer graduated from the University of Piura, Peru; he has a double Master’s degree in Economic Analysis of Law and a thesis in Economic Analysis of European Jurisprudence on Free Competition from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and the University of Hamburg, Germany. He has been teaching for 14 years at universities in Peru and is the author of several academic articles in his area of expertise.
The main objective of Carlos Monteza’s arrival at Cuatrecasas is to strengthen the firm’s comprehensive service offering for its current and potential clients in Peru, and thus continue to compete in the legal market with a sophisticated and high quality service. In addition, the incorporation of a working group specialised in administrative and public law will generate synergies with the other areas, which will be reflected in a very specialised advice.
Thanks to this incorporation, the Lima office now has nine partners covering the main practice areas of law: M&A and Corporate, Finance, Regulatory, Tax, Mining, Energy, Labour, Environmental, Litigation and Arbitration, and now Public and Administrative.
