DAC Beachcroft, BLP and Torres Carpio Portocarrero & Richter form insurance associations

DAC Beachcroft announced the formation of two new associations in Peru and across Central America with Torres Carpio Portocarrero & Richter (TCPR) and BLP, respectively.

The development is the latest in the international growth of DAC Beachcroft and is set to provide its clients with coverage in Peru and Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras.

These associations are poised to complement the strengths of the firm in Latin America, a region where it is already present with its own offices in Mexico, Colombia and Chile, together with an alliance in Brazil and a hub in Miami.

Announcing the move, the firm´s managing partner, David Pollitt, said: “We are very excited about this development, which marks a further important step in the firm’s expansion plans, adding to our existing strong network in the Latin American region.”

DAC Beachcroft Latin American regional head, Anthony Menzies, added: “We know Latin America is a hugely important market and one to which we are committed as part of our international growth strategy. It is undoubtedly a region where our clients want us to be. These associations now give us a presence in no fewer than ten Latin American jurisdictions, either through our own or associate offices.”

Neftalí Garro, who heads BLP’s regional insurance and reinsurance practice group, noted that: “We are proud to join forces and pool our resources with DAC Beachcroft. The synergies between the high-quality service both firms provide to the international insurance market make this new association an exciting opportunity and one we look forward to capitalising on.”

Pedro Richter, head of insurance at Torres Carpio Portocarrero & Richter, said: “We are pleased to have agreed this new arrangement with a firm of the calibre of DAC Beachcroft and look forward to our lawyers and clients feeling the benefit of our extended international reach.”
