Demarest advises on the ‘new Canecão’ auction project

A consortium formed by the companies Bônus Track Entretenimento and Klefer Sports Marketing was the winner of the auction held by UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), with the support of BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), for the concession of the “new Canecão” site in the south zone of Rio. The space housed the former concert hall in Rio de Janeiro, had been closed since 2010 and will be transformed into a multipurpose cultural area.

The winning proposal was BRL 4.35 million, an amount almost seven times greater than the minimum required proposal of BRL 625 thousand.

The project was developed by the BNDES with the support of hired consultants, in a consortium formed by EY, Fernandes Arquitetos Associados and Demarest Advogados.

The auction took place on February 2, at the Ventura building in downtown Rio, and was contested with the company WTorre Entretenimento, which offered a final bid of BRL 4.05 million.

Demarest relied on partners Bruno Aurelio (pictured left), Renan Sona (pictured right); associates Felipe Pires and Raphaela Maringoli.
