Demarest assists Consórcio Nova Norte in privatization bid

Demarest has assisted Consórcio Nova Norte, formed by Dix Empreendimentos and Socicam Serviços Urbanos, in winning the bid for Bloco Norte II (called Bloco Norte II).

According to the bid documentation, the estimated value of the contract is approximately R$ 1.931 billion – total amount of revenues (aeronautical and non-aeronautical) estimated for the lifetime of the concession. The concessionaire shall invest an estimated amount of BRL 874 mi during the whole term of the concession, including the amount of the foreseen and mandatory investments that include maintenance, management and expansion of the infrastructure to be carried out by the winner of the bid throughout the concession.

Consórcio Nova Norte, advised by Demarest, was the winner of the bidding for the North Block II, offering a proposal worth R$ 125 million as an initial contribution. 

The North Block comprises two international airports of great importance in air transportation in the North region of Brazil: Val-de-Cans/Júlio Cezar Ribeiro International Airport and Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport. 

The Val-de-Cans/Júlio Cezar Ribeiro International Airport, located in Belém (PA), is the busiest airport in the northern region of Brazil, and the Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport, located in Macapá (AP), is the 4th busiest in the region.
