Dentons announced Peru launch

Legal behemoth Dentons announced it will form a combination with Gallo Barrios Pickmann in Peru.

Gallo Barrios Pickmann was founded in Lima in 2010 and it is now home to 12 associates and seven partners after promoting its head of tax to the partnership earlier this month. The firm is perhaps best known for its expertise in mining and natural resources.

Following approval by partners of both firms, who will be vote on it in the next few weeks, the proposed combination will launch later in 2017 and will place Dentons in three out of the four countries members of the Pacific Alliance.

This is the latest development on Dentons´ rapid expansion in the region. Earlier in May, the firm launched an alliance in Brazil, following on the steps of its ventures into Mexico, Colombia and Central America over the last 12 months.

“With this combination we are truly poised to become one of the leading firms in Latin America,” said Elliott Portnoy, Global CEO of Dentons.
