Dentons assists NSE in OPS acquisition
A Dentons multi-jurisdictional team has assisted New Stratus Energy (NSE) on the acquisition of an initial 49% equity interest in Operaciones Petroleras Soledad (OPS), a private Mexican oil and gas company.
This significant transaction includes NSE’s exclusive right to negotiate the purchase of an additional 41% interest in OPS.
OPS is the third-party contractor and operator of a hydrocarbon production contract awarded by Pemex Exploración y Producción, a subsidiary of Petróleos Mexicanos, Mexico’s national oil company, in the Soledad block located in the State of Veracruz in eastern Mexico.
Dentons acted as exclusive legal counsel to NSE on this transaction, with a strong multidisciplinary team in Colombia, Mexico and Canada. Jorge Neher (pictured) led the lead legal team from Colombia, which also included Rogelio López Velarde from Mexico and Lucas Tomei from Canada. In addition, associates Rodrigo Ruvalcaba, Gustavo Mendoza from Mexico and Ana Restrepo from Colombia participated.
