Echecopar and Miranda & Amado on loan to Viettel

Estudio Echecopar, associated with Baker & McKenzie International, advised Viettel Perú in obtaining a medium-term financing granted by Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP) for an amount of up to S/ 150’000,000.00.

Miranda & Amado acted as advisor to BCP. Echecopar also advised Viettel in the financing granted by Banco Internacional del Perú (INTERBANK) for another amount of S/ 150’000,000.00, ending in a total amount of S/ 300’000,000.00 in favour of Viettel.

This financing will be used to repay short-term debt, and to finance capital expenditures related to the investments being made in Peru for the provision of public telecommunications services.

Under the loan, Viettel established a trust of assets as collateral in favour of Banco de Crédito del Perú, which mainly includes telecommunications infrastructure owned by Viettel (towers, antennas, among others).

Viettel Group is one of the largest digital ecosystem providers in the world, offering services in the fields of digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, high-tech manufacturing and digital solutions. Since its arrival in Peru more than ten years ago, it has established itself as one of the largest and fastest growing players in the Peruvian market, thanks to a robust focus on fibre optic services and 4G technology.

Benjamin Astete and Melina Politi acted as in-house counsels for Viettel.
