ECIJA opens Free Trade Zone and Customs “Advisory” in Costa Rica
ECIJA has announced the opening of its “Advisory” unit in Costa Rica, the first outside Europe, through which it will advise companies that operate or have the ambition to enter the free zone sector from Latin America.
This practice will be led by Oscar Campos (pictured), who commented: “The Free Zone Regime in Costa Rica has become the tool par excellence for attracting foreign direct investment and not only that, it also represents the instrument of choice for local investment which, by its nature and global vision, demands a highly efficient and competitive ecosystem.”
“We are very excited to open in Costa Rica our first Advisory operation outside Europe, focused on a very defined business niche, which is a pillar of growth for the country and the region,” said Mauricio Paris, managing partner of ECIJA in Central America.
Oscar Campos has more than 10 years of experience in the configuration and compliance processes of businesses within the free trade zone regime. For the last 5 years, he worked for PROCOMER, in charge of legal and customs advice for foreign and national investments that apply to the regime, and especially in the operational modernisation of the Free Trade Zone Law.
