Estudio Muñiz names Alfredo Lau-Tam as partner
Estudio Muñiz has announced the promotion of Alfredo Lau-Tam (pictured) as a new partner of the firm.
Alfredo joined the firm in 2018, where he focuses his practice on Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and Investment Management, and is also chair of the firm’s FinTech and Digital Banking Group.
He represents issuers, sponsors, investment banks and private equity houses in initial public offerings and SPACs, high yield financings, mergers and acquisitions, securitisations, sovereign debt, equity investments, among other commercial and corporate transactions in local and international markets. He also has experience in syndications, leveraged acquisition financings, refinancings and recapitalisations, structured financings and direct lending, as well as in the formation of private equity funds and liquid funds. In addition, Alfredo advises large institutional investors and state pension plans on their investment transactions in alternative assets, traditional assets and structured products. He also provides legal advice on general corporate matters, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a senior associate at Estudio Olaechea, as a lawyer at Mercado de Capitales Inversiones y Finanzas (MC&F), and as a market regulation analyst at Profuturo AFP.
He is a lawyer from the Universidad de San Martín de Porres, specialised in Financial Law and Corporate Finance from the Universidad ESAN, and obtained a Diploma in Finance for the Management of SMEs in Latin America from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is a member of the Lima Bar Association.
