Estudio Muñiz wins ProInversión tender on mine project
Peruvian law firm Muñiz, Ramírez, Pérez-Taiman & Olaya succeeded in a competitive bidding process to help ProInversión in a $2 billion copper mine project auction.
ProInversión is Peru’s Private Investment Promotion Agency and it ran a tender where the successful bidder would provide legal advice in relation to the award of the Michiquillay copper mine.
Michiquillay is an open-pit mine which will require an estimated investment of $2 billion, widely considered one of the largest investment projects announced this year in Peru. The mine, located in Cajamarca, has an estimated capacity of 187 thousand tons of copper per year. The mine also contains gold and silver.
Muñiz, Ramírez, Pérez-Taiman & Olaya will now advise ProInversión on tax, administrative and finance issues, as well as mining and environmental regulations on all matters arising from the the award of the Michiquillay project.
